Nearly twenty-five thousand residences in Queensland's southeast found themselves lacking electricity on Monday's dawn after powerful weather events swept through the state, producing strong winds hitting over 100 km/h.
Substantial Ice Stones and Extensive Damage
Residents witnessed large ice chunks measuring up to 7cm in particular locations. Meteorological experts verified that multiple regions across the state had been affected by large hailstones.

Rescue organizations received nearly 600 emergency reports across the area, mainly for structural issues but also for downed trees and flooding.

Moist weather were forecast to persist along large portions of eastern Queensland this week as a atmospheric system continued to pull in damp air against the coast.
Tuesday was expected to become the wettest day, with continued thunderstorm potential predicted across multiple regions of both states.

Public health experts cautioned that there was an higher risk of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the state's northern country region, especially given the current weather patterns.
